Her performance in the WNBA Finals, and specifically in Game 7, drew the attention of Golden State Warriors rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg. Lendeborg attended the game alongside four-time NBA champion and Golden State Warriors starting power forward Draymond Green.
“It was awesome,” Lendeborg said of William's Game 7 performance. “She looked just like Steph Curry, in my opinion. That last game, first half, I think she had 6 points, then you come out in the second half and you just score 20-plus points right away, like 3 back-to-back threes. It was awesome seeing it. It got me going. It felt like I was in the game with her. It was awesome to be able to see that.
Lendeborg then showed love to the Golden State Valkyries as an organization.
“I'm a big Valkyries fan. As soon as I got drafted here, I've been to as many games as I could. It's a very fun and inspiring environment with the kind of basketball that they play. I mean, next year I'm gonna be right there. First game, front and center.”
