Cam Schlittler did not make excuses after the New York Yankees dropped Game 2 of the ALDS to the Tampa Bay Rays. Instead, the right-hander placed the blame squarely on himself after a night when New York struggled both on the mound and in the field.

The Yankees fell 5-2 on Monday, giving the Rays a 2-0 series lead and putting New York on the brink of elimination. Schlittler lasted 4.1 innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on six hits while striking out two.

“I'm not disappointed in our defense. I'm not disappointed in the offense. Really just disappointed in myself,” he said. “That's baseball, and those things are gonna happen. But I've got to be able to work through those. I wasn't able to do that today.”
