The New York Yankees will be hosting the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card Series, starting on Tuesday. Originally, it was expected that Yankees' star Aaron Judge would be missing the series due to a right calf strain.

Now, there is an update on Judge's status, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

“Aaron Judge did some indoor hitting and throwing yesterday. He may participate in live BP today. ‘We’ll listen to the trainers and medical, and see where we’re at,' Aaron Boone said,” Hoch posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Judge initially left the lineup following a May 31 game against the Athletics, dealing with a right rib stress fracture. He finally returned to the lineup on September 8, playing in seven games. Judge hit just .174 with a home run and three RBIs. He also struck out 13 times in the seven games. He has not played since September 16. Judge is focused on trying to get back into the lineup, previously speaking about the rehab process, according to Max Ralph of MLB.com.

“We’re doing everything in our power to speed this process up,” Judge said. “If it happened in May, maybe the timeline is a little different.”

Game 1 between the Yankees and Red Sox is set for Tuesday at 8 pm ET. It will be Cam Schlittler going to the mound for the Yankees, while Payton Tolle goes for the Red Sox. Game 2 will see Max Fried for the Yankees against Sonny Gray for the Red Sox. If a Game 3 is necessary, it will be on Thursday in the Bronx, with Gerrit Cole and Ranger Suarez heading to the mound.
