New York Yankees star Aaron Judge was placed on the injured list once again on Saturday. Judge will be eligible to return from the IL for the final game of the regular season, but it remains to be seen if he will actually return for that matchup. Judge spoke to reporters on Saturday and said he's hoping to return for the postseason, via Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

“Aaron Judge said his right calf strain is in the soleus muscle. He wouldn’t say what grade strain the MRI revealed. ‘I'd like to be back by the postseason. That's definitely the plan. I got really no answers for you on any timeline or anything like that,'” Hoch reported.

The Yankees would obviously love for Judge to return for the playoffs. However, he's missed a significant portion of the season due to injury. There are no guarantees that he will be ready for the American League Wild Card Series (the Yankees could still technically clinch a first-round bye and win the AL East, but they trail the Tampa Bay Rays for the division lead at the moment).

Judge, 34, has hit .241/.360/.511 across 66 games played during the 2026 campaign. He has recorded 18 home runs and 10 doubles during that span as well.

Although Aaron Judge's season has not gone according to plan, his goal is to win a World Series. This year can still be considered a success for him if he can return and lead New York to its first Fall Classic victory since the 2009 season.
