Bouchard reached the 30-point mark after contributing a goal and an assist on Thursday, joining McDavid and Draisaitl as the Oilers' third player to hit the milestone this season. McDavid led the way with four points, while Draisaitl added two in the same game. Bouchard also made history by becoming only the sixth defenseman in the NHL's modern era, which began in 1943-44, to score at least 10 goals within his first 17 games.
The trio's production puts Edmonton in rare company. The Oilers became only the third team in the past 50 years to have three players emerge as the league's first three outright 30-point scorers in a season. The 1995-96 Pittsburgh Penguins and the 1979-80 Los Angeles Kings are the only other teams to achieve that distinction.
McDavid continues to set the pace with his outstanding playmaking and scoring ability. Draisaitl has remained a major offensive force alongside him, while Bouchard's contributions from the blue line have given Edmonton another dangerous weapon. Their combined production has helped the Oilers maintain one of the league's most threatening offenses.
Edmonton's power play has also played a major role in its offensive success. The team's ability to capitalize on scoring chances, combined with the individual talent of its top players, makes it a difficult matchup for opponents. If the trio maintains this pace, the Oilers could continue rewriting the record books.
