The New York Yankees are getting prepared for the playoffs, and with just a few games remaining in the regular season, manager Aaron Boone could make some decisions on resting players. That's what Boone described during media availability and gave a list of some players who could be in different positions over the next few games.

“Obviously want to see some guys in some spots. The value is just trying to get them in the best spots. I'll probably give [Austin] Wells a couple more days, kind of every other day.

“[Cody] Bellinger will pretty much play for the most part. May split some games up. Obviously prioritizing how we want to use guys in the pen. Mainly like [David] Bednar, [Paul] Blackburn, [Brent] Headrick. How far we're going to go with starters, what we're going to do, starter-wise, on the weekend, and you've got to cover innings and things like that. A lot of different moving parts with it.”

It would be best for Boone to manage some of the players as they prepare for the Wild Card Round, as they'll most likely face the Boston Red Sox.

The Yankees now know they'll be without Aaron Judge for the round as he deals with another injury outside of the rib issue that kept him out for most of the season. MLB insider Jon Morosi tried to calm the nerves of some Yankees fans with Judge being out.

“Yankees fans are justified in worrying about Aaron Judge's injury. But remember: NYY is 7-6 vs. BOS, and Judge played in 3 of those games. The Red Sox have averaged only 3 runs per game vs. the Yankees. The Yankees have given up the fewest runs in the MLB,” Morosi wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
