Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua remained sidelined Wednesday as he continues to deal with a groin injury ahead of the team's Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Nacua would not participate in practice.
“Rams WR Puka Nacua will not practice today due to his groin injury.”
Nacua's absence adds more uncertainty to his availability for Sunday night's road game against Denver. The injury already kept the receiver out of Los Angeles' 28-6 victory over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football in Week 2.
Rams head coach Sean McVay said Tuesday that he was unsure about Nacua's status for Week 3 but remained hopeful that the star receiver could return against the Broncos.
Wednesday's absence represents another hurdle for Nacua as the Rams move through a shortened week following their Monday night victory. His participation Thursday and Friday could provide a clearer indication of whether he has a chance to return against Denver.
Los Angeles bounced back from its season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers by defeating New York to improve to 1-1.
The Rams will face a Broncos team that also enters Week 3 at 1-1. Los Angeles and Denver will kick off Sunday at 5:20 p.m. PT on NBC.
