It has been almost two months since Seth Rollins' SummerSlam match against Roman Reigns, and while he made a surprise return at a WWE house show in Quito, Ecuador, he doesn't appear sure when he will be back in the ring.
Speaking to ESPN Chicago ahead of the Bears' game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, the “Visionary” was asked for an update on his return. He couldn't, even saying that he's currently “focusing on other things” outside the ring.
“No, I wish I could,” he conceded. “I’ve been off television since SummerSlam [where I] had a title match with Roman Reigns [and] lost that match. I’m just taking my time right now, kind of focusing on other things.”
He then said that he would “come back when the time is right” before acknowledging his recent house show matches. Rollins loved the shows he worked and shouted out the South American crowds.
Article Continues Below“At the end of the day, I’ll come back when the time is right,” Rollins revealed. “I was able to go down to South America a couple of weeks ago and do some non-televised events… Really fantastic crowds, just unbelievable. Their passion for pro wrestling is unparalleled, and they’re not spoiled like the American crowds. They don’t get shows very often… It's special to be down there. Those fans showed up and showed out. I hope that was a sign to the higher-ups that we need to get back down there.”
Rollins then revealed that the next Monday Night program fans can catch him on is on NFL Network, not RAW, before the Bears-Eagles game, saying, “As for me and Monday Night RAW, the next time you can catch me will be on the NFL Network talking football.”
It only seems like a matter of time before the “Visionary” is back in WWE. It's unknown when he will return from his hiatus, but there are several high-profile PLEs coming up, including Money in the Bank, Crown Jewel, and Survivor Series: WarGames.
