Perhaps for the first time ever, Roman Reigns praised Cody Rhodes, his longtime WWE foe and Street Fighter co-star during a recent interview.
Speaking to Complex, the “Tribal Chief” acknowledged the “American Nightmare” while talking about what it takes to become the face of WWE, as he and John Cena have been. Rhodes is the “QB1” of the company, and he fits the same mold as Reigns and Cena.
“As it's been shown with John and then also with me, it takes a decade or so,” Reigns said about becoming the face that runs the place.
He then asked the questions that have to be answered to become the face of the company, from whether or not you can compete when “tired” or “sick” to “Can you carry th e banner for this company? This is a billion-dollar machine. It's not easy.”
In his mind, there is only one other person who has been able to do it: “There's only been one who's been able to carry that banner. And that's been Cody.”

Reigns and Rhodes feuded throughout 2023 and 2024 over the Undisputed WWE Championship during the former's iconic 1,316-day reign.
The “Tribal Chief” won their first match at WrestleMania 39. The following year, the “American Nightmare” dethroned Reigns. Months later, they would team up to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood.
Their interactions since have been limited, though they teamed up at Survivor Series: WarGames 2025. They teamed up with CM Punk and The Usos (Jey and Jimmy) in a losing effort against The Vision (Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed), Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar.
Reigns and Rhodes are two of the biggest faces of WWE. They still have a long way to go in their careers, so expect them to remain on top.
