WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is arguably enjoying the run of his career. Following his lengthy title reign and a few brief hiatuses, Reigns won the 2026 Royal Rumble earlier this year and defeated CM Punk to win the World title at WWE WrestleMania 42.
Since winning the title, Reigns has maintained his status as the head of the table and has been in several iconic matches in the past year. Recently, in an interview with Complex ahead of Street Fighter's release, Reigns opened up about the chance of facing NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal.
Article Continues Below“I've beat a giant or two in my day,” Reigns said. However, he also added that Shaq from his Los Angeles Lakers days would be a tough match for him. “Give me Shaq back in the Laker days, and he's booming on everybody. That'll probably do the job. I got Shaq right now, for sure,” Reigns finished.
Reigns recently faced off against Penta in an episode of Monday Night RAW in Mexico City, Mexico, and successfully defended his title. While Penta is a wrestling veteran, he is relatively new to WWE.
In the same interview with Complex, Reigns also opened up about facing newer and younger wrestlers in WWE. “As these young guys continue to grow, they're gonna create matchups and situations for me,” Reigns added. “As I'm phasing out and as they're really taking the helm, their superstardom, I think, will create those type of fantasy warfares.”
