On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings improved to 2-0 on the 2026 NFL season with an ugly 9-3 road win over the Chicago Bears in some poor weather. While the Caleb Williams injury late in the game overshadowed some of what happened, the Vikings' defense had still been dominating the game prior to that point against a Chicago offense that put up a 50-piece last week against the Carolina Panthers.

Now, former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky has stopped by ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show to heap praise on Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores amid the team's dominant start on that side of the ball.

“Brian Flores got a ton of one one ones up front.. That's the first time under Ben Johnson that the Bears offensive front really got handled.. Brian Flores has his number,” said Orlovsky, per Pat McAfee on X, formerly Twitter.

Last week, the Vikings got off to a shaky start before rallying back to dismantle the Green Bay Packers in the fourth quarter, thanks in large part to the relentless pressure that Flores was able to dial up on Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love in the fourth quarter.

This time around, the Vikings were once again dominant on defense, completely shutting down a Bears offense that looked like it might be the best in the NFL last week.

While the ugly weather conditions certainly helped them out in that effort, it was still an impressive display of Flores' arsenal, and it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see his name pop back up in head coaching discussions if this success continues.

The Vikings will next hit the field on September 27 on the road vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
