After having last season cut short due to injury, incoming Indiana Hoosiers guard Markus Burton is looking forward to playing again amid his transfer from Notre Dame. The fourth-year guard will be one of the Hoosiers’ key leaders as they head into the program’s second season under head coach Darian DeVries, and he’s looking forward to showing his all-around game, as he mentioned during Big Ten Media Day.

“This year I’m just excited to show everybody that I’m not just a scorer,” Burton said. “I want to show that I can guard the best players. I can be a point guard, I can kick, I can do other things like that. I feel like this year is one of the seasons that’s going to show I can be the best version of myself, honestly. And I feel like I’m able to do that because I have so many players on my team that can go get 20, and that’s just a blessing to have. Not too many people have that on their team and for me to have that on my team, that’s just something really cool.”

Markus Burton is certainly going to be called upon to score the ball amid his transfer to Indiana, but with plenty of scoring options on the roster, he can show off his playmaking game. During his first three seasons at Notre Dame, he averaged 3.8 assists with his career best of 4.3 coming in his freshman year.
