The New York Giants watched a promising Monday Night Football performance take a frightening turn when Jaxson Dart appeared to suffer a knee injury against the Los Angeles Rams. The grim sequence unfolded live on ESPN’s ManningCast. Quarterback legends Peyton and Eli Manning immediately reacted as Dart went down with more than three minutes remaining in the first quarter.

“Oh, no. Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no,” Peyton said, visibly concerned as Dart clutched his left knee. “That is not what we want to see. Gosh. Oh, come on.”

Eli, who spent 16 seasons as New York’s quarterback, echoed his brother’s concern while examining the replay.

“I think it's high-low a little bit, Peyton,” Eli said. “Oh, tough to watch. Hate to see that. Hopefully he's okay.”

Dart was quickly taken to the blue medical tent before being carted to the locker room for further evaluation. The Giants will await additional testing, including an MRI, to determine the severity of the injury and how it could affect his season.

Selected 25th overall by New York in the 2025 NFL Draft, Dart became the Giants’ starter in Week 4 of his first season. He immediately showcased his physical dual-threat ability. He finished 2025 with 2,272 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 487 rushing yards, while his nine rushing scores established a new Giants single-season quarterback record. Dart entered 2026 as the undisputed starter under John Harbaugh. He opened the campaign with 230 passing yards and three total touchdowns in a win over Dallas. His early-season momentum makes the injury an especially significant concern for New York.
