Dan Lanning and Oregon football had the final say on Saturday, securing a statement 41-27 win over No. 12 USC at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The impressive upset also brought out an emotional and energetic reaction from Lanning as the 20th-ranked Ducks celebrated a major win.

Following Oregon’s hard-fought win over USC, the Ducks head coach openly displayed his excitement. Lanning was seen sprinting across the field before making his way toward the fans along the sidelines, joining them in celebrating Oregon’s memorable win over its highly ranked opponent.

Oregon managed to overcome the loss of starting quarterback Dante Moore, outscoring USC 28-17 after halftime. Moore was taken away on a stretcher after USC linebacker Desman Stephens II delivered a late hit while the quarterback was sliding. Stephens was subsequently ejected from the game for targeting.

Rather than allowing the incident to derail their focus, Oregon maintained its composure and continued competing. The Ducks rallied around backup quarterback Dylan Raiola, who stepped into the game and efficiently took control of the offense when his team needed him most.

After the statement win, Lanning reflected on the victory during his postgame press conference with a shot at USC…and Chris Brown.

“Three wins against these guys. I guess if you're interested in winning football games, you're from this area, you should go to Oregon. You want to go to a Chris Brown concert, you should go here,” Lanning said.

Saturday’s victory further strengthened Oregon’s standing as one of the prominent programs in the expanded Big Ten landscape. The result moved the No. 20 Ducks to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten play, while USC dropped to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in conference competition.

Lanning and the Ducks will have a bye next week before returning to action against another Los Angeles-based opponent, UCLA.
