It will be interesting to see once the dust settles just how many WNBA records the Golden State Valkyries and Gabby Williams broke en route to their first WNBA title. The Valkyries won Game 7 68-63 despite a slow start as Williams took control of the second half by dropping a Finals record of 28 points, finishing the game with 30 points in what was a low-scoring affair.
However, Williams had a commanding Finals series that saw her finish with 137 points in seven games, breaking the WNBA record previously set by the Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson, who had 114 points during the title run in the 2025 season, per a post on X by StatMuse.

“I love moments like this,” Williams said post-game per ESPN. “[Coach] Natalie [Nakase] told me to be patient in the first half. I listened to her.”
The 30-year-old averaged 19.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.6 steals per game over the 7-game series. Golden State were trailing by as many as six points at the end of the first half, scoring 15 in the third quarter to help her team to a one-point lead coming into the final period.

Angel Reese and co. had the game tied at 53 apiece in the fourth quarter before Williams once again decide to take charge. She scored nine straight points for her team to help them to a 60-57 lead, and Golden State did not trail again on the night against the backdrop of their own fans chanting at Chase Center.
Williams was a driving force on both ends of the court for her team, and also had four steals and two blocks to complete a maverick performance that will go down as one of the best in WNBA Finals history.
