The Memphis Grizzlies, who are yet to lose a game in the NBA this season, won against the Sacramento Kings, who are yet to win a game in the NBA this season, at FedExForum earlier on Saturday. The Grizzlies ran out blowout 136-105 winners as Cameron Boozer and GG Jackson II combined for 48 points, leaving the Grizzlies at 6-0 for the season, with Sacramento now at 0-6.

However, it was not without positives for the Kings as Darius Acuff Jr. finished with a game-high of 38 points, breaking multiple records en route, per a post on X by NBA. The No. 7 pick of the 2026 NBA Draft had nine three-pointers out of 14 attempts, tying the NBA rookie record.

🔥 38 points (game-high)
🔥 9 triples (ties NBA rookie record)

Acuff Jr. (19y, 349d) becomes the youngest player in Kings franchise history to record consecutive 30-PT games… surpassing Oscar Robertson (21y, 357d)! pic.twitter.com/d4XXRF0bEH

Acuff Jr. also became the youngest player in Sacramento history to register back-to-back games with at least 30 points at the age of 19 years and 349 days. And well, he finds himself in elite company as he broke the record of none other than a certain Oscar Robertson, who achieved the feat at the tender age of 21 years and 357 days.

It will be fair to say that Acuff Jr. is exceeding expectations thus far in the big league. He leads his rookie class in scoring with 26.3 points per game across six games thus far, and also has 6.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game. Acuff Jr. is quickly becoming his team’s standout player in a season that is increasingly becoming difficult for the team.

The 19-year-old is taking 24 shots per game, converting just 9.5 shots per game with an efficiency of less than 40%, which suggests there is room for improvement for a player who is quickly becoming a high-volume shooter in the league. The Kings however, are still looking for their first win this season and will now visit the Dallas Mavericks on Monday.

On the other hand, Memphis has been on a constant tear at the start of the campaign and will now host the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.
