With the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Finals against the Atlanta Dream, with Game 1 on Saturday, they earned an impressive sweep over the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals. As the Valkyries are led by Gabby Williams and others on the deep squad, Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham would throw out praise for Williams for her production on and off the court.

Speaking on the “No Hesitation Show,” Cunningham would specifically point out Williams' impact on Golden State when it comes to the confidence that she gives the rest of her teammates, calling that aspect “huge.”

“I want to hit on this, and I think this is super important,” Cunningham said. “When your best player, regardless of how they're playing, is still making sure that her teammates are feeling confident, that she's bringing good vibes to the huddles, to the timeouts, to the locker room, during halftime, that is huge. That is huge. You have got to put team first,” Cunningham said.

“I think Gabby Williams is a great example of doing that,” Cunningham continued. “And so, if you're constantly making sure your teammates are good, you're naturally gonna get out of it. And we all know that Gabby Williams is an absolute beast.”

In the postseason for the Valkyries, Williams has been averaging 22.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, four assists, and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from deep. Cunningham credited Williams for her Game 3 performance against the Aces, as despite it being a rougher shooting night, making six out of her 16 attempts, she still pushed through.

“And they're at Vegas, and so for her to come in there and try to like, be where her two feet are at. Be in the now. Forget about all of the missed shots and go in there, especially overtime, and hit her free throws…And for her to just have the mental strength to be next play, be right where her two feet are at,” Cunningham said.

At any rate, Williams looks to help bring Golden State their first title ever.
