Earlier this year, Conor McGregor made his much-awaited 5-year-long UFC return. At UFC 329, McGregor made his comeback against his former rival, Max Holloway. However, just seconds into his fight, McGregor suffered a brutal ACL injury and was ruled out.

Now having undergone surgery and recovering, McGregor is expected to return in 2027 and have his last UFC fight. Amid the ongoing rumors about him parting ways and joining BKFC, UFC commentator Joe Rogan has opened up and questioned McGregor's decision to return at UFC 329 in the first place.

Speaking on the JRE MMA Show with UFC heavyweight Sean Sharaf, Rogan addressed McGregor's return. “Like, it seemed like Conor [McGregor] was doing it to show that he could still do it. It seemed, and I don’t know, you know, I didn’t talk to him. I haven’t had a conversation with him as a person, but it seemed like he wanted to be on top again,” he said.

“And you got to wonder, is that the best motivation for a guy that’s worth half a billion dollars and is f***ing living in the lap of luxury. Is he just chasing that ‘high’ or is he chasing that dream?” Rogan further added.

His comeback against Holloway was his first fight since he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in Jul. 2021. McGregor has not won a single fight since beating Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in Jan. 2020. With just one fight left in his UFC contract, McGregor has not yet officially commented on his future.
