The New England Patriots are currently gearing up for their Week 2 game at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Patriots are coming off an ugly choke job against the Seattle Seahawks to open up their season last week, but will have a major rest advantage heading into their Pittsburgh matchup.
On Thursday, the team got some good news when it was revealed that running back TreVeyon Henderson was back at practice after missing Week 1 due to an ankle injury, and now, the star himself has spoken about his return.
âÂÂIâÂÂm ready to go,â he said, per Mike Reiss of ESPN NFL Nation on X, formerly Twitter.
The Patriots sure could have used a player like Henderson out on the field against Seattle last Wednesday as their offense started to deteriorate in the second half after a solid start to the game.
Quarterback Drake Maye tossed three interceptions in the fourth quarter alone of that game, ultimately leading the Patriots to be held to just 10 points on the evening.
Now, New England will welcome in a Steelers team coming off an uninspiring win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, with the defense doing most of the heavy lifting in that one.
It remains to be seen if Henderson will be cleared to take the field in that contest, but the fact that he was back at practice on Thursday is certainly a good sign for his status moving forward.
In any case, the Patriots and Steelers are set to kick things off on Sunday at 1:00 pm ET from Foxborough.
