Arch Manning decided to return to Texas for the 2026 season instead of heading to the NFL Draft. Manning is seen as the top quarterback available in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Now, a landing spot for Manning has been projected by Todd McShay, per Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post.

“Draft analyst Todd McShay is now projecting QB Arch Manning of Texas to the Miami Dolphins at No. 1 in his 2027 NFL mock draft,” Schad posted on X, formerly Twitter.

McShay also made a note about how he decided the draft order and how many quarterbacks will be selected early, noting on his website.

“In this first mock of the regular season, I have six quarterbacks coming off the board in the first nine picks, Jeremiah Smith forcing an interesting decision in the top five, and two top-10 talents at pass rusher getting pushed to the middle of Round 1,” McShay wrote. “A quick note before we get started: The draft order below is based on FanDuel’s Super Bowl odds as of September 14 (with some adjustments to account for equal playoff representation from each conference), so before you get after me on social media, this isn’t my prediction for where every NFL team will finish. It’s simply the cleanest way to set the board this early in the season.”

The Dolphins are currently projected with the top pick, according to the system used by McShay. With that top selection, they take Arch Manning. The full draft has four quarterbacks taken in the top five picks.

After Manning goes first overall, Dante Moore from Oregon goes to the Cleveland Browns, before Trinidad Chambliss from Ole Miss heads to the Arizona Cardinals. The first non-quarterback taken is Jeremiah Smith, going fourth overall to the Tennessee Titans. Other quarterbacks taken in the first round include CJ Carr going seventh to the Carolina Panthers, LaNorris Sellers going ninth to the Atlanta Falcons, and Sam Leavitt going 13th to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
