The Tennessee Titans are 0-4 to begin the season after falling 24-18 to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4. Things just aren't clicking for this young team just yet, as the jury is seemingly still out on quarterback Cam Ward. However, there is one bright spot from Sunday's contest that fans can get excited about, and that's Carnell Tate.

The No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft ended the day with nine receptions for 145 yards. That is officially the most receiving yards by a Titans rookie wide receiver since A.J. Brown totaled 153 yards in 2019, according to Turron Davenport of ESPN.

“Carnell Tate's 145 [receiving yards] is the most by a Titans rookie in a game since A.J. Brown had 153 vs. the Raiders in 2019,” Davenport reported.

Head coach Robert Saleh was impressed with Tate's play against the Ravens. During his postgame press conference, Saleh praised the 21-year-old wideout for serving as a go-to target for Ward while also loving Tate's abilities as a run blocker, and acknowledged the fumble late in the second quarter.

“He's a big-bodied receiver, and I do think overall when we watch the tape, I think we're going to see a young man who played well,” Saleh said about Tate. “I think we'll see a man who blocked his tail off in the run game. He made a couple good errors, and he knows it.

“He's visibly upset about it. He knows that there's still more meat on the bone with regard to his play, despite the fact that he had a decent day statistically,” Saleh continued. “He's a young kid, man. He's gonna get better. He's gonna get more consistent.”

Carnell Tate and the Titans will have a chance to get their first win of the season in Week 5. The team is scheduled to face off against the Houston Texans in Nashville.
