Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson was an unexpected scratch from the lineup on Sunday and head coach Nick Sirianni didn’t shed any light about his outlook moving forward during a press conference after a 24-20 loss to the Rams.

The Eagles announced Johnson was questionable to play for personal reasons shortly before he landed on the inactive list. Sirianni didn’t go into any detail about when the team learned Johnson might not be able to play — they did not elevate any extra offensive linemen on Saturday — or share anything about the reason for the absence.

“I think you guys know he’s dealing with a personal matter and that’s really all I’m gonna say about that,” Sirianni said.

Johnson also missed time at the start of training camp and said his mother had been dealing with some health issues when he returned to the team. Sunday’s loss dropped the Eagles to 18-30 when Johnson misses time compared to 122-63-1 with him, so they’ll be hoping the absence is not an extended one.
