There’s little doubt that Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons will miss Week 5. And there has been talk that he won’t be back for a while. However, an intriguing injury update for the edge rusher is important, according to a post on X by Matt Schneidman.

“We’re not allowed to film, but Micah Parsons doing some fairly strenuous running on the side at practice with some sort of wrap/brace on his left knee. LaFleur said Parsons made progress last week but wasn’t ready to practice.”

Progress sounds good. Anything positive sounds good when it comes to Parsons. The Packers have been struggling and are looking for a boost.

Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons trying to get back

It’s not an effort thing, according to atozsports.com.

“The guy is working his butt off to be out there,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said. “We’ve made some ground over the last week, but where and when he’ll be available, time will tell. Looking forward to that day.”

It seems like the Packers are taking more than their share of time getting Parsons back on the field. It makes some sense because of his value, according to channel3000.com.

“I mean, he's a generational talent,” LaFleur said a day after his team’s 17-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “But I'll tell you this: The guy is working his butt off to be out there, and I think we've made some ground in the last week.

“Where and when he'll be available, time will tell. But certainly, [we’re] looking forward to that day.”

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst has been optimistic.

“We have a pretty good idea once we get out of that four-game window that we’re going to be pretty close,” Gutekunst said at the time. “As you guys have heard me say, I’m going to be pretty cautious with that. We’ve got a big investment there. He’s really important to what we’re trying to do. To accomplish the goals we want to late in the year, he’s going to need to be at his best. So, I want to make sure that happens.”
