Actress Gail Bean is bringing a little Hollywood star power to the HBCU homecoming scene as she heads to North Carolina A&T State University’s Greatest Homecoming on Earth (GHOE). Known for her standout performances in the hit television series Snowfall and P-Valley, Bean is looking to join the festivities at one of the most highly anticipated homecoming celebrations in the HBCU community.
With thousands of Aggies, alumni, and supporters gathering in Greensboro, North Carolina, GHOE continues to prove why it holds a special place in Black college culture, drawing familiar faces from across the entertainment industry.
Bean recently took to her personal X account to share her plans with followers, sparking excitement among fans and North Carolina A&T supporters who quickly welcomed her in the replies.
“I think I'm going to GHOE ☺️” she tweeted.
Although Bean did not attend an HBCU, she has ties to some of the country's best-known HBCUs. The actress graduated from VSU—not Virginia State University, but the other VSU: Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. Located in southern Georgia near the Florida state line, Valdosta State is a predominantly white institution (PWI). However, its proximity to Florida A&M University gave Bean opportunities to experience HBCU culture firsthand during her college years.
On The Crew Has It podcast, Bean opened up about her college experience, including frequent trips to Florida A&M to attend parties and enjoy the campus atmosphere.

Bean also has a connection to another prominent HBCU, Howard University, through her membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She joined the sorority while attending Valdosta.
Although Bean is not an HBCU graduate, her college experiences and sorority ties have kept her connected to the culture and traditions that make these institutions special.
