Texas football is coming off a massive win last week against Ohio State. Steve Sarkisian's team has been dealing with some off-the-field distractions this week. There was Sarkisian blowing off Holly Rowe after the Texas win, and then Arch Manning discussing an AI video between the two.

Now, the team is dealing with another off-the-field distraction, this time involving an assistant coach, per Tyler Horka of On3.

“Texas linebackers coach Johnny Nansen was charged with misdemeanor DWI last night, Steve Sarkisian says. The team is still gathering details,” Horka posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Sarkisian also gave an update on the status of Nansen.

“Steve Sarkisian says he does not know if Texas linebackers coach Johnny Nansen will be on the sideline for Saturday's game against UTSA after his DWI on Wednesday.”

Nansen has been on the coaching staff at Texas since 2024, serving as both the co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach.

This is a developing story and will be updated.ÂÂ
