Texas A&M is not having a good week. After a 2-0 start, the Aggies hosted Kentucky, and Texas A&M fell 31-21. On the opening kickoff of the game, wide receiver Terry Bussey was injured.

Now, the extent of the injury is known, according to an update from head coach Mike Elko, per On3.

“Texas A&M WR Terry Bussey is out for the season with a lower-body injury, Mike Elko announced,” On3 posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Bussey was carted off the field after landing awkwardly on his right leg during the kickoff. He was not able to put pressure on his leg after the injury.

Bussey was coming off back-to-back solid games to open the season. He hauled in three receptions for 34 yards in the first game while also running in a touchdown. Then, against Arizona State in the second game of the year, he brought in four receptions for 58 yards. Bussey came into the game second on the team in receiving.

Texas A&M has Mario Carver and Isaiah Horton on the roster. Carver has 19 receptions for 194 yards and two touchdowns this year. Meanwhile, Horton has 12 receptions for 170 yards and three touchdowns this year. Meanwhile, Marcel Reed has not been at his best this season throwing the ball. He has completed just 62 of 104 passes for 632 yards. While he has six touchdown passes, he has also thrown three interceptions.

Texas A&M plummeted in the Top 25 after their loss to Kentucky. They have a chance to rebound in Week 4, as the Aggies hit the road to face LSU.
