San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper is entering his second year in the NBA. He had a really impressive run last season that earned him his first NBA All-Rookie First Team nod.

Now that he has gotten more familiar with the environment and high-pressure games, the Rutgers alum is not shying away from Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant comparisons.

Harper was recently asked about his career ceiling and whether he could eventually reach the level of players such as MJ and Bryant. The 20-year-old did not hesitate to answer if he could match those lofty expectations.

“Feel like everything you named, plus a lot of championships,” Harper answered. “Definitely. If you don't have that belief in yourself, you don't carry that confidence in yourself; no one else is going to believe you. I feel like the dreams and aspirations I have are far-fetched, but I know the work I put in.”

That confidence comes after a rookie season in which Harper showed why the Spurs believe he can become a major piece alongside Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. He averaged 11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists during the regular season before raising his production to 14.1 points and 5.6 rebounds in the playoffs.

Harper has also maintained that fame will not change his priorities. After recently landing his first solo SLAM Magazine cover, he said the increased attention around him is difficult to avoid but remains focused on improving his game.

The guard identified leadership as one of his biggest areas for growth entering his second season. He wants to improve his communication, understanding of the Spurs' system, shooting, basketball IQ, and defense.
