After beating the Los Angeles Lakers 124-98 in a preseason game on Tuesday, Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg came to a surprising realization. Lendeborg led the Warriors with 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and one block in 21 minutes. After nearly recording a double-double, he revealed how easy cleaning the glass was.
For Lendeborg, pulling down rebounds in only his second preseason game with the Warriors is easier than it was when he was competing for a NCAA national title with Michigan, he said, per NBC Sports Bay Area's Dalton Johnson.
“I feel like they’re more lazy to get rebounds.”
Lendeborg also finished with nine rebounds in the Warriors' 104-101 loss to the LA Clippers on Sunday.
Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg's ‘scared' confession
Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg is still afraid to reach out to veterans Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. It's not that the four-time champions are mean to the rook, it's just still surreal that they're his new teammates, Lendeborg explained after the Warriors' win on Tuesday.
“At the last game, I texted Steph and Draymond both, you know, just to ask for some advice and some guidance after the first game. Especially for me, just getting over the fact that I'm with NBA players every single day and I have like access to talk to them whenever I want. That's something that I had to definitely get over with right away,” Lendeborg said.
“I'm still kind of a little like scared to talk with these guys sometimes, tell who they are, but I mean, other than that, man, this is very fun, being able to communicate and share our connections with each other.”
