Florida State Seminoles running back Ousmane Kromah will miss the rest of the season after injuring his left ankle in a 43-35 double-overtime loss to Miami on Saturday, a source confirmed to ESPN on Sunday.
Kromah had a 9-yard carry to Miami's 2-yard line but landed awkwardly on his ankle when Chase Smith tackled him. Kromah tried to hop off the field on his right leg, with his ankle bent at an angle. He finally fell to the turf, and the Florida State medical staff immediately put an air cast on his leg before he was carted off.
He did not return.
Kromah led Florida State in rushing this season with 609 yards and five touchdowns. Florida State is also without backup running back Samuel Singleton, injured in the Alabama game, leaving Texas transfer Quintrevion Wisner as the lead back moving forward.
CBS Sports first reported that Kromah is out for the year.
