The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a heartbreaking game against their division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. It wasn't like they played badly during the game; they just repeatedly shot themselves in the foot multiple times in crucial moments.
To make matters worse for Seattle, star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba suffered an ankle injury during the game. Smith-Njigba was able to finish the game, but his availability was called into question for Week 6. The Seahawks play on a short week as they take on the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football.
Let's look at the Seahawks' injury report for Week 6 and see who will be ruled out for Seattle.
Seahawks' Week 6 injury report vs. Broncos
RB Zach Charbonnet – OUT (knee)
LB Chazz Surratt – OUT (calf)
LB Drake Thomas – OUT (ankle)
Let's start with bad news first. The most notable omission from the roster is linebacker Drake Thomas. Thomas, who has played in 86% of all defensive snaps this season, has been ruled out after suffering an ankle injury. He's a starter for one of the best defenses in the league, so his absence will be sorely missed by the Seahawks.
Zach Charbonnet, on the other hand, isn't playing yet after suffering a torn ACL in the 2025 postseason. His 21-day practice period has been activated after being placed in the PUP list to start the year, and the Seahawks running back is likely to make his 2026 debut in Week 7. Chazz Surratt is a special teams player for Seattle this season.
Article Continues BelowThe good news for Seattle is that Smith-Njigba is absent from the injury report. The reigning Offensive Player of the Year was a limited participant in Monday and Tuesday, but was a full participant yesterday. The Seahawks wide receiver will also have an easier time against the Broncos, as former DPOY Pat Surtain was also ruled out.
Other notable limited participants during the lead-up to Week 6 include DT Leonard Williams, QB Drew Lock, and backup RB George Holani. All three players do not carry an injury designation in the game against the Broncos. Aside from Surtain, the Broncos won't have Talanoa Hufanga available to take on the Seahawks. Cornerback Riley Moss is listed as questionable as well.
The Seahawks are looking to bounce back after suffering a heartbreaking 29-32 loss to the 49ers last week. Meanwhile, the Broncos are coming off a 23-17 win over the still-winless Los Angeles Chargers. Who will win in a matchup between two top-four teams last season?
