The Seattle Seahawks recently got some tough news that tight end Elijah Arroyo would miss time due to a shoulder injury he suffered on Thursday in the team's loss to the Denver Broncos. The news came out just after the team signed veteran tight end Josiah Deguara to their practice squad, potentially in response to that development.

Now, the team has gotten a tough update on Arroyo's status moving forward.

“Arroyo is most likely headed to Injured Reserve, which would put him out at least four weeks,” reported NFL insider Jeremy Fowler of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

Arroyo was drafted by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Miami and had begun to step into a bigger role for the team this year prior to suffering the injury.

It remains to be seen if Deguara will be promoted to the main team in the wake of this latest development.

The tough news comes amid what has been a major rough patch for the Seahawks' offense, as Sam Darnold has begun to regress into the New York Jets version of himself after helping lead the Seahawks to the Super Bowl last year.

While the sky isn't falling quite yet, the Seahawks will want to start seeing some improvement from their offense sooner rather than later as the noise gets louder.

In any case, things won't get any easier from here for Seattle, as the team is next set to hit the field next Sunday night at home vs the Kansas City Chiefs.
