The Seattle Seahawks turned Jaxson Smith-Njigba loose to wallop the Arizona Cardinals 31-7 Sunday. But the defending Super Bowl champs witnessed one scare involving running back Jadarian Price.

Price needed to briefly leave following a chest injury. He dished out some brute punishment beforehand like this run.

But Seattle fans briefly gasped at the sight of their rookie running back going down momentarily. Already the Seahawks needed to roll without Sam Darnold at quarterback, who's currently out with a glute injury.

Yet is Price's injury long-term and forcing him to sit out the rest of 2026? NFL insider for The Ringer and Netflix Tom Peliserro dropped an update on that front after the game.

“Seahawks RB Jadarian Price, who left today’s game at Arizona with a chest injury, had X-rays that came back negative. More tests Monday, but there’s optimism he avoided any significant injury,” Peliserro posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Price immediately rose as a fan favorite for his hard-charging running. Even Seahawks franchise legend Shaun Alexander became a fan of the past Notre Dame star. Sunday's game even pitted Price against a Cardinals team now led by his former Fighting Irish teammate Jeremiyah Love, who landed at No. 3 overall in April's NFL Draft while Price got taken at 32nd to the champs.

So Price never finished out the rout, but managed to rack up 52 yards before the injury. He averaged four yards per carry too in the 24-point trouncing of the NFC West rival. Emanuel Wilson rose as the leading rusher with 21 carries for 92 yards.
