Quenton Nelson admitted his trade from the Indianapolis Colts to the Seattle Seahawks was bittersweet, but the veteran offensive lineman is ready for his next chapter in the Pacific Northwest.

“It was a little bittersweet. I formed a lot of great relationships in Indy, great community there. Definitely excited for this next chapter… everyone has been so welcoming already,” Nelson said about the trade.

While leaving Indianapolis was difficult, Seattle is getting one of the best guards of his generation at a time when the offense needs a boost. Nelson's arrival should make an immediate difference at left guard, particularly as the Seahawks look to establish more consistency in their running game.

The timing could also work in Seattle's favor. Zach Charbonnet could return this week, while the team is expected to get Price back from injured reserve in the coming weeks. Adding Nelson to the offensive line gives the Seahawks another important piece as they work to get their ground attack going.

Seattle is coming off a much-needed victory over the Kansas City Chiefs and now turns its attention to the Chicago Bears on Monday night. The matchup will give Nelson an early opportunity to face a formidable defensive front, especially after Chicago acquired defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.

Nelson's experience and physicality could be important against a Bears defense that has added another disruptive presence up front. His ability to help create running lanes will be worth watching as Seattle tries to build on last week's win.

The move may have been difficult for Nelson personally, but the Seahawks are counting on him to help strengthen an offensive line that could play a major role in their second-half push.
