With the Seattle Seahawks trading for star offensive lineman Quenton Nelson from the Indianapolis Colts, he's looking to start a new chapter in his NFL career after eight years with his now-former team. As the Seahawks take on the Chicago Bears in Week 8, a recent news item will bring some familiarity from Nelson's Colts days.
While the trade for Nelson was big news, it wasn't the only big trade made this week, as the Bears traded for star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans. Both players have been battling each other for eight seasons in the AFC South, and they'll battle once again on Sunday as part of their new teams.
Speaking to the media for the first time on Thursday since the trade, Nelson was asked about going up against Simmons, and aside from complimenting the defensive tackle, he made a humorous joke about not being able to get away from him.
“I mean, he's an amazing football player and competitor, and yeah, I was like, ‘Man, can't get away from this guy.' So, yeah, will be another battle against him this week,” Nelson said, via Ari Meirov.

The eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time First-Team All-Pro honors, Nelson is looking to help the reigning Super Bowl champions and their offensive line. After a big win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7 to bring them to 4-3 on the season, putting them second in the NFC West, the team looks to keep the momentum going in Week 8 against the Bears on Sunday afternoon.
