The Seattle Seahawks are off to a strong start to the 2026 season, making incredible NFL history after beating the Arizona Cardinals 31-7 on Sunday afternoon.

Seattle is coming off an astounding 2025 season where they won Super Bowl 60. They shined as one of the best teams in the league, proving their case after beating the New England Patriots in the championship game. The team looks to build on that success by making another Super Bowl case.

Seattle has a long win streak going on, extending from the second half of last season. Following their blowout victory over the Cardinals, they improved their win streak to 12. This paved the way for them to make franchise history, per NFL insider Adam Schefter.

“Seahawks now have won 12 straight games, the longest win-streak in franchise history, breaking the tie they had with the 2005 Seattle team led by Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander,” Schefter wrote.

How Seahawks played against Cardinals

The Seahawks are on fire dating back to last season. They are now 2-0 this year after beating the Cardinals in Week 2.

Seattle made easy work of Arizona with the convincing 31-7 win on the road. They were even at seven apiece by halftime, but the visitors came alive with 24 consecutive points to seal the game in their favor.

Seattle missed Sam Darnold as he recovers from an injury he suffered in the opener. Drew Lock was effective in his start, completing 19 out of 26 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns.

Emanuel Wilson had a solid night in the run game with 21 carries for 92 yards, while Jadarian Price recorded 13 rushes for 52 yards. Aside from Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed caught three passes for 35 yards and Cooper Kupp made two receptions for 20 yards.

The Seahawks will look forward to their next matchup, remaining on the road. They take on the Washington Commanders in Week 3 as kickoff commences on Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. ET.
