The Seattle Seahawks were humbled on Monday night, after losing 34-17 to the Chicago Bears. The usually reliable Seahawks defense got exposed, especially in the red zone. Seattle is now getting issued a stern warning by an NFL insider.

“The worst red zone defense in the NFL…..no answers tonight. The Bears out hit them, the Bears out played them,” analyst Brock Huard said, per Seattle Sports.

It was certainly a tough night for Seattle. Offensively, the team couldn't run the football. Defensively, Seattle got absolutely torched in the red zone. Huard went on to describe the game, and held absolutely nothing back.

“We got smacked physically in a way we have not in years,” Huard added.

His words ring true. Seattle's defense allowed 363 total yards to the Bears. Seattle also went just 1-for-11 on third down, in a rough performance.

“We got beat. No other way to sugar coat it,” Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said, per the Associated Press. “When you look at the things that it takes to win in our league, we didn't do those things and they did.”

Seattle seemed especially bothered by Bears defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. Simmons seemed to bother Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold all night.

“According to Next Gen Stats, the Seahawks were held to 3.0 yards per play (3 sacks, INT) in the 48 plays where Simmons was on the field. In the eight plays where he was off the field, Seattle averaged 13.3 yards per play,” ESPN reported.

Seattle is looking to win another Super Bowl this season. This type of performance certainly won't help them in the weeks moving forward.

The Seahawks will now try to regroup. The team next plays the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Seattle is now 4-4 on the year.
