A report before Sunday’s games said that the Eagles will not trade running back Saquon Barkley ahead of the November 10 trade deadline and Barkley said after Sunday night’s game against the Commanders that he’s received the same message from the team.

Barkley played through hamstring and back injuries in that game and he scored a touchdown in the first quarter, but the Eagles went from being up 10-0 to losing 27-10 in Washington. The loss was the sixth in a row for a team that’s reeling, but Barkley made it clear that he’s not looking to jump ship and is happy that the Eagles aren’t interested in parting ways.

“When that message was relayed to me, it definitely does mean a lot,” Barkley said, via Tim McManus of ESPN.com. “The whole time my mindset was, we have a little issue going on right now and I feel like I’m the type of player and the type of leader that can help us get out of it, and I want to be one of the reasons why we fix it.”

The Eagles traded offensive lineman Cam Jurgens last month and their tailspin would seem to make more deals a real possibility, but Barkley is set to be around for the long haul.
