Earlier this year, just days after the announcement of Ryan Hurst's injury-related exit from God of War's live-action show, former WWE Superstar and Hollywood actor Dave Bautista emerged as his replacement for Kratos.
Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television secured the Guardians of the Galaxy star for the role of the live-action Kratos. The actor known for portraying Drax on screen will now play Kratos. However, Batista had recently undergone a major transformation, in which he lost most of his muscle mass, but playing Kratos on screen requires a lot of bulking and muscle.
The former WWE star has now reached 250 pounds after gaining 20 pounds for his role as Kratos in Prime Video's God of War series. He shared the clip as his Instagram Story on Nov. 1, 2026.
Batista shared a gym clip with the caption “Gained 20 lbs for GOW” and a “250!” sticker over it. He was wearing a God of War T-shirt in the video. Batista had talked about his training push for the show earlier this year in Sept. 2026 and now the results are here for him to flaunt.

Earlier this year in Sept. 1, 2026, Batista shared a video on Instagram where he showed off his training routine and physique. Once known for being one of the biggest and most ripped guys in the WWE locker room, Batista is now trying to reach that phase again. “3rd week in to weight training again. 2 more months to get to where I need to be. Like ridin a bike! LFG!” he wrote last time.
