The Philadelphia Eagles suffered another embarrassing loss on Sunday Night Football. Philly lost 27-10 against Washington in a game that completely flipped after the first quarter. That isn't stopping the Eagles from refusing to move one of their superstar players at the upcoming trade deadline.
Eagles running back Saquon Barkley confirmed that he was told by Philly that he will not be traded. He explained how that made him feel after the game.
“I didn't really read too much (trade rumors). You see the tweets and whatever, but I guess it means a lot. I have nothing but respect for this organization, top to bottom,” Barkley said, per The Athletic's Zach Berman. “I really do think they do things the right way. I relish every time to go out there and play for this organization, put on the midnight green. So when that message was relayed to me, it definitely does mean a lot. But my whole mindset is we have a little issue going on right now and I feel like I'm the type of player and type of leader who can help us get out of it. I want to be one of the reasons why we fix it.”
Article Continues BelowESPN broke the news on Sunday that Philadelphia will not trade Barkley this season, completely shutting down trade rumors.
