As the Atlanta Braves looked to secure their 93rd win of the season in a Tuesday night showdown against the Cincinnati Reds, disaster struck in the third inning when Ronald Acuna Jr. made contact with a 91 mph cutter from Brandon Williamson and promptly dropped to the ground in severe pain.
Sitting pretty with a 3-1 count down 1-0 with two strikes, Acuna Jr. choked up on the bat and hit it into the ground, but it ricocheted off of his knee into the ground, with the umpire immediately stopping the game to see if he was okay.
