The Boston Red Sox are hoping to reach the Major League Baseball Playoffs once again in 2027. Boston is making a pitching trade with the St. Louis Cardinals, as the team looks to re-shape the roster.

“The Red Sox today traded LHP Eduardo Rivera to the St. Louis Cardinals, in exchange for minor league RHP Juan García,” Boston announced on X, formerly Twitter.

The Red Sox lost in an American League Wild Card series in the 2026 playoffs, to the New York Yankees.
