Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Griffin Jax enters Wednesday’s World Series Game 5 one day removed from helping his team avoid elimination against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The 31-year-old worked four innings in Tuesday’s 4-3 victory, allowing four hits and two earned runs while striking out six.

The Rays now face another elimination game after using seven pitchers to get through Tuesday’s 12-inning contest at Tropicana Field.

MLB Now shared a clip Wednesday on X, formerly Twitter, featuring Jax discussing his Game 5 outlook and the team’s training staff during an MLB Network appearance.

“This is what you play for. This is what you train for. This is what you know. Why we have such a great training staff inside. So if I can move my arm today, I'll be ready.”

Jax would be a relief option, with Drew Rasmussen set to start Game 5 on three days’ rest.

Rasmussen lasted 3 2/3 innings in Game 2 and has previously started on that rest interval only once in his career.

Game 1 starter Nick Martinez supplied two relief innings Tuesday, adding another rotation member to the pitching effort that kept Tampa Bay’s season alive.

The Rays rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 12th to avoid a sweep and cut the Brewers’ series lead to 3-1.

The victory marked their first World Series win at Tropicana Field since 2008.

Jacob Misiorowski is set to take the mound for Milwaukee in Wednesday’s matchup, scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Fox in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Pitching would mean working without a day of rest for Jax, whose willingness does not guarantee an appearance. The Rays have not confirmed he will pitch.
