The Baltimore Ravens are currently gearing up for their Week 2 game against the New Orleans Saints. Baltimore is coming off a strong road win over the Indianapolis Colts to open up the season on Sunday, although they are now dealing with some issues on the injury front.
âÂÂThe Ravens have five players not practicing Thursday: WR Zay Flowers (hamstring, OLB Trey Hendrickson (finger), LT Ronnie Stanley (toe), G John Simpson (groin), CB T.J. Tampa (knee). Like Wednesday, Simpson is watching off to the side,â reported NFL insider Jamison Hensley of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
While it's unclear how significant each of these injuries is, and whether or not they will play a role in these players' availability for Sunday's game, it's certainly something to keep an eye on as the season progresses.
Flowers found the end zone in his first game of the season after signing a lucrative contract extension with the Ravens this offseason, and quarterback Lamar Jackson looked as spry as ever on the heels of an injury-riddled 2025 campaign that had some fans wondering whether he would ever be able to fully recapture his elite agility and speed.
Of course, the Colts and Saints aren't exactly the barometers of success in today's NFL, so it will be interesting to see how the Ravens look as the competition starts to ramp up later on this year.
However, there is certainly something to be said about taking care of business, and the Ravens will have another chance to do just that on Sunday afternoon at home against New Orleans at 1:00 pm ET.
