It will undoubtedly have the feel of a playoff game Sunday at Orchard Park when the Baltimore Ravens (4-3) take the field against the Buffalo Bills (5-1). Coming off their bye week, Josh Allen and the Bills lead the AFC East by a game and a half over the Patriots. The Ravens, meanwhile, have lost their last two and currently sit in the cellar in the AFC North.
Two optimistic notes for the visiting Ravens. First and most important, Lamar Jackson is expected back under center for Baltimore. Second, the Ravens have been much better away from home this season with three wins in four games away from M&T Bank Stadium.
Baltimore arrives in Buffalo coming off its worst loss of the season, a 35-13 home defeat to Cincinnati. Tyler Huntley started in place of the injured Jackson and completed 23 of 34 passes for a career-high 298 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Zay Flowers produced eight catches for 137 yards and a 48-yard touchdown. The issue was on the defensive side of the ball. The Ravens allowed the Bengals to rack up 357 total yards of offense. The true difference-maker was in the red zone. Cincinnati was in the red zone five times last Sunday…and scored touchdowns each of the five times.
Buffalo, meanwhile, enters rested after a Week 8 bye and riding a two-game winning streak. The Bills’ most recent game was a 33-30 road victory over Las Vegas on October 18, following a 37-34 win over the Rams the previous week. Josh Allen remains the centerpiece of one of the NFL’s most explosive attacks, entering Sunday with 1,504 passing yards and nine touchdown passes while also leading Buffalo with eight rushing touchdowns. James Cook has added 627 rushing yards, helping the Bills average 148.8 yards per game on the ground, second in the NFL.
Sunday’s defining matchups include: Buffalo’s Allen-Cook rushing attack against a Baltimore defense allowing only 96.6 rushing yards per game. On the other side, a returning Jackson and Henry, who has 579 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns, should challenge a Bills’ defense that statistically has been vulnerable despite the team’s 5-1 record.
There is plenty of recent history adding to the stakes. The all-time series, including the postseason, is dead even at 7-7, although Buffalo has won four of the past five meetings. Their most recent meeting was a shootout: Buffalo beat Baltimore 41-40 in the 2025 season opener at Highmark Stadium, despite Jackson throwing for 209 yards and two touchdowns, Henry rushing for 169 yards and two scores, and Flowers piling up 143 receiving yards. Allen countered with 394 passing yards and two touchdowns as Buffalo escaped by a point.
Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find an additional sweat or two.

Our model calculates projections around each moneyline, spread and over/under bet for every game on the NFL calendar based on data points like past performance, player matchups, betting trends, and weather forecasts.
Once the model is finished running, we put its projection next to the latest betting lines for the game to arrive at a relative confidence level for each wager.
Here are the best bets our model is projecting for Sunday’s game between the Ravens and the Bills:
- Moneyline: NBC Sports is staying away from a play on the Moneyline.
- Spread: NBC Sports is recommending a play on the Jets +7.5.
- Total: NBC Sports is leaning towards a play on the Game Total OVER 43.5.
Here’s why the Ravens +3.0 is the best bet:
The case is built on a defense that cannot stop anyone. Buffalo ranks 26th in defensive DVOA (12.6%), 30th in points allowed (28.5 per game), 31st in yards allowed (412.5 per game), 31st in passing yards allowed (311.5 per game), 30th in plays allowed (68.5 per game), and 31st in missed tackles (44). They’ve allowed 21 touchdowns (29th) and 15 passing touchdowns (31st) through six games. That’s a unit that gets shredded through the air, and it’s facing a Baltimore offense that ranks 2nd in completion percentage (70.3%) and 2nd in yards per pass attempt (8.39). The news angle matters enormously here. Lamar Jackson is listed questionable but is “believed to be close to 100 percent” and expected to play Sunday, per reporting, and coach Jesse Minter said Jackson is “in a decent spot” to go. The head-to-head history is a caution: over the last five completed meetings, Baltimore is 1-4 straight up and 2-3 against the spread, with an average final of Ravens 24.6, Bills 23.6. That’s a one-point margin — right at the current number — which is exactly why I’m taking the points rather than the moneyline.
Top Player Props: Ravens vs. Bills
Josh Allen Anytime Touchdown
The cleanest volume play on the Buffalo side. Allen has cleared this 0.5 touchdown number in 80% of his last five games at a 1.2 average and he’s at 83.33% for the season at 1.33 per game across six games. His projection sits at 0.85 touchdowns. The home split is perfect — 100% at 1.67 touchdowns per game across three home games. The situational case is straightforward. Buffalo ranks 1st in rushing touchdowns (2.33 per game) and 1st in touchdown percentage (6.41%), and Allen is the engine of that red-zone offense. Against a Ravens defense that ranks 23rd in rushing touchdowns allowed (1.14 per game), he should find the end zone.
Keon Coleman OVER 29.5 Receiving Yards
Coleman has cleared 29.5 receiving yards in 80% of his last five games. His projection sits at 33.28 yards, above the line. The home split is the loudest number — 100% at 72.0 receiving yards per game across three home games — and against Baltimore he’s 100% across one career meeting at 112.0 yards. The structural case is real. Baltimore ranks 22nd in completion percentage allowed (66.08%) and 16th in passing yards allowed (249.43 per game), and Buffalo ranks 1st in yards per reception (13.82) and 1st in yards per pass attempt (8.8). That’s a passing game built for chunk plays, and Coleman is a primary beneficiary at home.
