The Detroit Lions face one of their biggest games of the season in Week 8. Detroit faces off against Minnesota in a game that will have huge ramifications in the NFC North division race. There's a chance that the Lions could be without one offensive superstar for that crucial divisional showdown.

Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown picked up an ankle injury in Week 7 against the Packers. Fortunately, Detroit is reportedly optimistic about his chances to play on Sunday.

“The Lions are optimistic about wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown playing despite an ankle tweak from last week. Detroit knows St. Brown is one of the toughest players in the league and is able to play through various issues,” ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote on Wednesday. “Last year, he played on a high-ankle sprain on three days' rest to dominate on a Thursday night.”

St. Brown had one of his best games this year against the Packers. He logged nine receptions for 153 receiving yards off 11 targets on Sunday. So it would be a big problem if St. Brown is unable to play in Week 8.

The positive injury update is great news for Lions QB Jared Goff, who has been incredible to start the season. Goff has 1,788 passing yards with 14 touchdown and zero interceptions through six games played. In fact, Goff already earned praise from Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores ahead of this weekend's big game.

Detroit still has plenty of other offensive weapons even if St. Brown is not at 100% on Sunday. The Lions can still do plenty of damage with superstar Jahmyr Gibbs, speedy wide receiver Jameson Williams, and tight end Sam LaPorta.
