The Baltimore Ravens will once again be without Lamar Jackson for an extended period of time after he hurt his thumb last week against the Buffalo Bills. Though they say it may not be season-ending, everyone is bracing for the possibility that he won't be back on the field for the remainder of the year.

That has led some to think that Jackson has played his last snap as a Raven, especially since he hasn't signed an extension with the team yet. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network doesn't think that Jackson is going anywhere, and it'll depend on what happens during the offseason.

“Lamar Jackson has one year left on his contract and has not signed a contract extension yet with the Baltimore Ravens, despite the fact that the organization wants to,” Rapoport said. “He has a big cap number next year, but here's my understanding of the situation. When this season ends, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will get together, and the hope is that he will be a member of the Baltimore Ravens for a very long time, potentially through the end of his career.

“Doesn't sound to me like he wants to go anywhere. Doesn't sound like the Ravens want him to go anywhere. I would be surprised, or maybe even stunned, if Lamar Jackson was not the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens in 2027.”

It sounds like it'll come down to the offseason, and if both sides can't agree to a deal, the Ravens may have to consider what a trade looks like for Jackson. He'll become a free agent in 2028, and there's no way that they let him walk for nothing.

Since both sides seem to be willing to get something done, the chances of Jackson staying should be high.
