The Baltimore Ravens took a rough loss against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2, and it felt familiar, like most of their losses throughout recent seasons. The Saints scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, as the Ravens' offense went cold when they needed to score points the most.

Head coach Jesse Minter was not pleased with their performance, and he shared the reason for their shortcomings, saying that it's a “lazy excuse” to blame it on the new offense.

“Right now, we have too many operational penalties on offense,” Minter said via Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

This is a team that just a week ago had a field day on offense against the Indianapolis Colts, as Derrick Henry led the way with three touchdowns. Looking at it now, the Colts' defense is not very good, and it makes sense why the Ravens had so much success.

After the game, Jackson was honest about why he thinks the Ravens still have a hard time finishing games.

“Things just don't go our way sometimes at the wrong times. That's what I believe. Certain calls happen, getting the momentum going, and get brought back with penalties here and there. Anything can go down; that's why I believe we haven't been finishing,” Jackson said.

This is something that has hurt the Ravens for a long time, and even with a new head coach, they seem to be dealing with the same thing. It's uncertain what has to happen at this point for them to turn that one negative thing around, but it's on the entire team to improve.

The Ravens have the talent to be one of the best teams in the league, and they've shown that every season. The only thing that's holding them back is consistency, and the hope is that they can figure it out sooner rather than later.
