The Toronto Raptors are set to play a preseason game against the LA Clippers this weekend in Vancouver, but their superstar will not be playing as he continues to ramp up his on-court activity.

Kawhi Leonard, who has been a limited participant in Raptors training camp, but has been brought along slowly, will not play in Saturday evening's preseason contest against his former team. Leonard has been doing individual on-court work for much of the preseason, but took part in his first live practice with the team on Friday.

“He went through the whole practice with the team today,” Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic confirmed after Friday's practice. “He's continuing to ramp up in preparing for the season. He's feeling well, he's where he needs to be at this point.”

This will be the second preseason game that Toronto plays in Canada outside of their home city. The Raptors took on the Miami Heat on October 3rd in Quebec City before taking on the LA Clippers in Vancouver on October 10th.

In what was his 14th season last year, Kawhi Leonard put up career-highs at 34 years of age, averaging 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 50.5 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from three. The Clippers failed to make the postseason, however, losing in the play-in tournament against the Golden State Warriors.

Leonard was traded to the Raptors as part of the trade that also saw Toronto send Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, and a package of future draft picks to Los Angeles. Ingram is currently recovering from offseason surgery on his heel to address a heel spur and partially torn Achilles tendon.

At this point, Brandon Ingram is limited to individual on-court work with members of the Clippers' player development staff. He will not be available to start the season for the Clippers and there's a chance that neither Leonard nor Ingram are available for the November 2nd regular season game between the two teams.

Sunday's contest between the Raptors and Clippers is set to tip off at 6:30PM EST.
