The Los Angeles Rams are preparing to face the Eagles one week after tight end Terrance Ferguson left the Broncos game with a medial sprain to his right ankle. Ferguson had a “super cool” reaction to his first touchdown that was dampened by his injury.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler shared an update on the Rams tight end ahead of Week 5, and it was bad news for Matthew Stafford, coach Sean McVay and company.

“Rams place TE Terrance Ferguson (ankle) on injured reserve. Ferguson tried to play (through) an ankle issue that got worse Sunday vs. Denver. TE Colby Parkinson (knee/shoulder) is questionable and did not practice all week.”

The Eagles' offense floundered against the Case Keenum-led Bears in Week 4 but could return to life this weekend against McVay's Rams. Los Angeles got a positive injury update on Puka Nacua ahead of Week 4's clash that could help Stafford's unit get back to its explosive ways.

Ferguson had seven receptions for 63 yards before his injury, numbers that Nacua and Parkinson could help make up for starting this week, or perhaps Week 6 in Parkinson's case. The Rams' offense has also been emboldened by the improved play of the one-two running back punch of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum.

Missing Ferguson will hurt against the Eagles, but Stafford, Nacua and McVay know how to lead an offense as well as any three offensive minds in pro football. The Rams look like a strong pick for fantasy football players this weekend, even as the tight end position continues to lag behind the others and the Eagles' defense continues to pose a big threat on the road in Philadelphia.
