SoFi Stadium could have provided power for the entire state of California with how electric it was when Aaron Donald ran onto the field before the Los Angeles Rams took on the New York Giants on Monday.

Donald did not suit up in their season opener against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia, and fans were ecstatic to see him make his much-awaited return after unretiring in August. The 35-year-old defensive end had three total tackles, including one for loss, as he helped the Rams defeat the Giants, 28-6.

In the postgame conference, coach Sean McVay kept it real about Donald.

“He just elevates people he's around and situations he's a part of,” said McVay.

“If you didn't get chills when he was introduced, then you're not freaking alive. That was awesome.”

McVay also touted the impact of the three-time Defensive Player of the Year as an emotional leader and defensive anchor.

“It was one of those deals that you get an opportunity to say, ‘Just watch what the hell I do and follow my freaking lead,' and that's what this guy does. I love him,” added McVay.

While he is still trying to regain his old form, Donald's decent production against the Giants should be encouraging.

He signed a one-year, $20 million contract with the Rams, whom he helped win the Super Bowl in 2022.

The Rams will visit the Denver Broncos in Week 3.
